Abstract
The purpose of this study is to assess geosites of the Geopark Chichibu from the perspective of various values, highlight their advantages and problems, and finally contribute to the management of the Geopark Chichibu through presenting this study to the public. In order to attain the above purpose, research has been conducted to 34 new geosites of the Geopark Chichibu proposed in July, 2018 with additional 5 geosites considered to be important. Total 39 geosites are assessed from the perspective of six values; educational value, scientific value, tourism value, safety and accessibility, conservation and site sustainability, and value of tourism information. After showing advantage and problem for selected geosites, this study proposes a partial change on new geosites of the Geopark Chichibu from the perspective of geotourism as well as ways to make the Geopark Chichibu more attractive to many people who are interested in it.
