Abstract
We developed the walk training system to provide rehabilitation of walking that can be adapted to trainees whose legs are unequal ability due to sickness or injury. We designed a treadmill for this system that has two endless belts, one for each leg of the trainee. By adjusting the belt settings of the normal side and the disabled side individually, the trainee can use the treadmill even if his two legs are unequal ability. Field tests confirmed that this system is useful in improving the walking gait of a hemiplegic patient.
