A Normative Approach to Fuzzy Reasoning using R-Implication

Abstract

Since Lotf.A.Zadeh has formulated the composi- tional rule of inference based on fuzzy set theory, various kinds of methods for fuzzy reasoning have been proposed and also their mathematical properties have been studied. In the applications, an appropriate method among them has been selected according to its practical purpose. In this paper, we formulate a method of fuzzy reasoning on the basis of R-Implication by considering in advance several normative criteria to be satisfied by so called Generalized modus ponens.
