Abstract
This paper examines the knowledge field of the project management as an object of Knowledge Management. There are two major problem areas: A. what kind of knowledge, information or data should be managed, and B. how the information should be notified to members and utilized effectively. To manage Project Management Knowledge effectively, firstly, Project Management Information Architecture is discussed. The architecture is created based on the examination of real software development project, which include problem solving of information/data sharing or re-use of them, data and process modeling of project management activities, and synthesizing all the ideas toward managing Project Management Knowledge. Then, based on experience of implementing the architecture, to generalize and enhance the effectiveness of the architecture, other knowledge of project management such as PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) and CMM (Capability Maturity Model) are investigated, which resulted in a new Project Management Knowledge model.
