Abstract
The Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) decided to embark on a program in 1990 to promote the solar cell industry for solution of climate change and oil crisis. We evaluated four kinds of photovoltaic products, namely: single crystalline silicon; polycrystalline silicon; amorphous silicon and compound semiconductor from viewpoints of product cost, conversion efficiency, R&D cost, and reliability. And we analyzed project planning, schedule and organization.
