Abstract
Ensuring quality is important for achieving successful results in a software development project. Failure prevention is essential for quality management, and failure prevention techniques include quality risk management. Implementing quality risk management may lead to improved quality of the deliverables and to reduced quality cost. However, quality risk management does not always promise reduced quality cost because working for the management takes time. This study is intended to improve the efficiency of quality risk management activities, by introducing to quality risk management a risk database that considers risk chains. This makes it possible to perform more efficiently quality risk management activities, leading to improved quality and reduced quality cost, and to prevention of quality risks from reoccurrence.
