Abstract
ThinkPad is a well known Notebook PC brand.The development project has been done by a matrix team consisting of development group, marketing, manufacturing and so forth, located in multiple sites over the world.The development process consists of the development phases in which the deliverables and criteria at each phase entry and exit are defined.This paper describes the team formation and the development process.This paper considers the matrix team, required skills of a project leader, tips for smooth project execution, and schedule control based on the experience of a Technical Project Manager.
