Abstract
In order to study on the process of fracture of the projected shots, steel balls and glass beads, 10 channel counting apparatus was designed. This apparatus consisted of a photo electron type counter, pulse amplitude discriminators and counters for 10 channel counting.
Silicon photo diodes were applied as the converter, differential amplifiers as the discriminator, and electronic and electro-magnetic as the counter.
The apparatus counts the balls greater than 0.6mm O. D. at the rate of 555per second.
If the diameter difference of two balls is greater than 0.048d, both diameter of balls can be measured exactly, where d is the ball diameter.
The diameter frequency distribution of shots and glass beads obtained by the apparatus agrees approximately with that obtained by the projecter.
