Discussion of Technological Approach of The Project “Salvage Memories” to Return Photo Albums Lost in Disaster Area

Abstract

In this paper, I provide technical analysis of The Project “Salvage Memories”. The project developed an archive system to return photo albums lost during the earthquake and massive tsunami on the day of March 11th 2011. The system has a great potential to hand regional memories, which have been fading in the disaster area, on to the next generation. I discuss the benefits and problems of the archive system.
