Abstract

This presentation explores the use of the Internet by a youth protest group, SEALDs (Students Emergency Action for Liberal Democracy), who is against policies of the Abe government. They are post 311 generation who have commonly experienced 3.11 disasters when they were 14 to 18 years old. After long absence of wide ranged protest actions by students, SEALDs has come to the fore and involved many young assenters to their actions. We analyse 5-+their strategies with the Internet and motivation through participation observation and interviews.
