In this report, we conducted a questionnaire survey of people living in Japan and examined their consciousness concerning the trolley problems of automatic driving vehicles. As a result of the survey, it was seen that the utilitarian way in which automatic driving vehicles travel was widely approved of. However, intention to purchase such a vehicle was low. In addition, there was a higher demand for common rules than in prior studies, and common rules were being sought on a large scale. Although there was also a great deal of approval for the standard setting, there was also a certain number of people who changed the setting later. In addition, there were very many voices stating that the internal mechanisms of automated driving vehicles should be made public.
