Smartphones have become an essential part of our lives, with increased usage time and diverse communication methods. However, there is still a lack of sufficient research on the specific relationship between these usage patterns and personality traits. We examined how time spent on smartphones, frequency of contact with friends, and use of social networking services are related to Big Five personality traits. The analysis revealed that the association between smartphone usage and personality traits varied by gender and age. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the relationship between smartphone usage patterns and Big Five personality traits.
