In this presentation, we will clarify the "something" that seems to be inherent in face-to-face communication and cannot be replaced by online communication. Firstly, we will consider the body or corporality, because the presence of the body provides many important elements to engage in communication. Examining this aspect, we will arrive at the second point, namely that a common space is necessary for authentic communication. Finally, we will show that the opposition between online and face-to-face communication is only apparent, and how this kind of space is constructed.
