Abstract

Microwave power transfer (MPT) for drone applications is proposed. To increase efficiency of the MPT system, flat-topped beams are synthesized by an array antenna, and its evaluation is conducted. As results, the flat-topped beam with 46.6% of transmission efficiency were obtained. Subsequently, rectification efficiency of the rectenna array was simulated on a circuit simulator. It was confirmed that the parallel rectenna array had 79.5% of rectification efficiency when using the flat-topped beams. In addition, the evaluated overall efficiency of flat-topped beams was 35.6%, which exceeded one of the conventional beams by 9.3 points.
