How to resolve issues in commercializing Space Solar Power technology

Abstract

  Now that fifty years have passed since a concept of space solar power was made public, many of underlying technologies have been developed, so we have reached the level that the space solar power technology will be realized in a shorter period of time. However, it is difficult to advance to the next stage due to less budget allocated by the government in each nation. It is feared that we might be in a sense of despair if such a situation will be prolonged. In order to break down this situation, firstly it is proposed to involve start-up companies and how to get huge amount of fund for a start-up company is investigated. Secondly, improvement of visibility is highlighted for the purpose of getting fund and acquiring talented researchers. Thirdly, necessity of international cooperation is emphasized and how to appeal to the international organizations is investigated.
