In this paper, the design requirements of structures and mechanisms of Space Solar Power System (SSPS) are clarified from the upper level requirements of SSPS. Not all design conditions can be derived from the view point of structural system. For example, the concept of stiffness requirements for an ultra-large structure like SSPS should be derived along with the new concept of the attitude control system applicable to such an ultra-large structure. Finally, the requirements and remarks in the assembly operation of the SSPS are described.
