Abstract
A rare case of a pleomorphic adenoma with thyrosine-rich crystalloids was reported.
The patient, a 54-year-old woman, complained of swelling in the right soft palate. Intraoral examination demonstrated a slight swelling of the right soft palate. Microscopic examination revealed the crystalloids in a pleomorphic adenoma. The crystalloids histologically had a radial configuration, resulting in the characteristic petal-shaped morphology, and the content of tyrosine in the crystalloids was verified by a strongly positive Millon reaction. Since surgery, the patient has been good condition without recurrence.
