Abstract
For a slope disaster countermeasure, combined effects with relatively large deformation ability of wire net and the sand cushion are focused by the forecast of their excellent energy absorption performance in this study. This kind of ability concerning a wire net fence is considered to provide also useful information on considering the behavior of wire net fence with no sand cushion, when landslide occurs and some earth fall on it. From this point of view, a series of impact experiments of wire net fence installed on a sand cushion had been curried out. The impact forces generated by a rock fall and a collision of some earth and their dynamic characteristics were made clear, which was useful information for design of wire net fence.
