Abstract
This reseach proposes a method to identify damage of bridges based on the acceleration response of a passing vehicle over the bridge. The continuance wavelet transform (CWT) is adopted to detect a sudden change of the response as damage. Numerical simulation shows that the location of the damage can be detected by comparison of the results of CWT between intact and damaged states, even if roadway roughness is considered.
