Abstract
In Japan, we have the 6% reducing obligation of the carbon dioxide exhaust in 1990. In the bridge construction that is one of the civil engineering, a large amount of carbon dioxide has been exhausted. On the other hand, the traffic accident against the pedestrian happens frequently for recent few years, and the bridges become a bottleneck in the road improvement planning. So, it is necessary to consider about the new ideal of constructing the bridge.
In this paper, the carbon dioxides by a small scale timber bridge construction are calculated. It is found that the timber bridge construction is effective for a carbon dioxide reducing compared with the concrete slab bridge construction. So, it proposes the planning about constructing a timber bridge only for the pedestrian next to the highway bridge.
