Abstract

The purpose of this study is to clarify shear capacity of existing reinforced concrete structures with stirrup rupture. Rebar corrosion is often observed in exsiting RC structures, and some of the rebars rupture in severe case. However, it is hard to evaluate structural performance or behavior of those structures by current code or specificatons. Therefore, loading tests and FEM analyses were carried out with RC beams to understand behavior of existing deteriorated RC structures. Based on the loading tests and the analyses, basic shear capacity of RC beams with stirrup rupture was figured out, and an evaluation method for the beams was proposed.
