Abstract

Some old RC structures were constructed by using round bars with very low reinforcement ratio. In this study, cyclic loading tests of RC rectangular columns, which modeled old existing dam gate piers, were conducted. From the test results, the cyclic behavior was clarified, and the influence of very low reinforcement ratio and the difference from deformed bars were evaluated. In addition, it was verified that a bond-slip model for round bar in 3 finite element analysis is applicable to simulate the tested specimens using very low reinforcement ratio.
