Abstract

Many studies are investigated for the reduction of slip coefficients in highstrength bolted frictional joints with oversized holes and slotted holes. Almost of studies are focused on slotted holes with the slot parallel to the direction of the force. However, few studies are focused on short slotted holes, and slotted holes with the slot perpendicular to the direction of the force. Many of previous studies are focused on slip. On the other hand, after-slip behavior is unclear. In this study, we attempted to evaluate the effects of oversized holes and slotted holes at the serviceability limit state and ultimate limit state by FEA with hole shape and plate thickness as parameters.
