Abstract

This study investigates effective measures to suppress rail corrugation by theoretically analyzing ballastless tracks. First, a method to evaluate the degree of rail corrugation growth using a theoretical analysis model that considers the dynamic interaction between a track and vehicle is proposed. Then, the parameters of the track structure and track materials that are effective in suppressing rail corrugation on the outer rail of curves are examined for various ballastless track structures including newly developed floating supported ballastless track with under sleeper pad. Consequently, reducing the elasticity and damping of the undersleeper pad was considered the most effective in suppressing outer rail corrugation.
