Abstract

Infrastructure management and its extending service life in the area are crucial for the local government to realize the region's sustainability. As part of appropriate maintenance and management, a periodic close-up visual inspection of bridges has been mandatory since 2014 in Japan, and the inspection results have been accumulated. In this study, we proposed a simple conversion method for two inspections with different evaluation methods for the Bridge Health Index, examined its validity, and compared the value of the entire bridge with the evaluation results for each member. From these results, the key point for effectively using bridge inspection records is comparing the evaluation results for each member and each inspection item of damage.
