Abstract

This study evaluates the fatigue resistance of RC slabs with steel expansion joints and the load fluctuation and impact coefficients generated when wheel loads pass through the decks. The absolute values m = 12.7, 10.5, and 4.0 of the inverse of the slope of the S-N curve equation for RC slabs were used to evaluate fatigue resistance. As a result, the equivalent number of runs and years for which deflection reaches 4.0 mm approximated the life years of Tokyo when m = 10.5 was applied. In the evaluation of load variation and impact coefficient, the load variation for the conventional type was ±27.5 kN, the load distribution type was ±23.5 kN, the load distribution type with induction plates was ±18.6 kN, and the impact coefficient I was 0.229, 0.201, and 0.161, respectively.
