Abstract
A 66-year-old man visited our hospital because of left abdominal pain and abdominal distention. Abdominal enhanced CT scan showed pancreatic pseudocysts 2.0cm and 8.5cm in diameter adjacent to the pancreatic tail, a dilated pancreatic duct and a small tumor in the pancreatic head. Endoscopic retrograde pancreatography (ERP) showed stenosis of pancreatic duct in the pancreatic head, and FDG-PET revealed mild accumulation in the pancreatic head. Preoperative diagnosis was pancreatic head cancer complicated by pancreatic pseudocysts, and subtotal stomach-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy was performed after the percutaneous drainage of the pseudocyst. It is necessary to consider the possibility of the presence of pancreatic cancer whenever a pancreatic pseudocyst is observed.
