Abstract
After adding ferric ammonium citrate (FAC) to common salt, we packed it into paper bags and piled them up for the period of three, six, nine, and fifteen months respectively in order to find the degree of its caking and the movement of its moisture content for each piling period.
The results obtained were asfollows:
1. It was found appropriate to add approximately 10-20 ppm of FAC to salt in order to prevent salt from caking most effectively
2. The moisture content of salt after piling was lower in general than that before piling. The salt containing FAC maintained the moisture better than the salt cotaining no FAC.
3. The bulk density was greater in the lower layers than that in the upper layers. This is probably due to the pressure of the piled salt.
