Abstract
In sea water distillation methods, the prevention of ammonia has come into critical problembecause of its evaporation.
The purpose of this work is to evaluate the formation of ammine metal complexes by adding asmall amount and a few kinds of heavy-metal salts such as iron, chromium to the aqueous solutioncontaining ammonia and to check up on the prevention effect on distillation of ammonia.
Similary, distillation of hydrogen cyanide is conducted.
From these studies, it is found that the controlling effects for distillation of ammonia or hydrogencyanide by adding metal salts are considerably dependent on pH, salinity and the decomposition of these complexes by heating the solution and further kinds of metal species and/or its concentration.
