The double salt 2CaCl2·MgCl2·6H2O was synthesized by precipitating in the equilibrium solution of the system MgCl2-CaCl2-H2O at 110°C. The properties of this salt were studied by means of thermogravimetric analysis, differential thermal analysis, the powder X-ray diffraction, chemical analysis and microscopic photographs. The double salt 2CaCl2·MgCl2·6H2O was found in deliques. cent white fine crystal and to have many diffraction lines like Tachhydrite.
