On the Double Salt 2CaCl₂·MgCl₂·6H₂O

Abstract

The double salt 2CaCl₂·MgCl₂·6H₂O was synthesized by precipitating in the equilibrium solution of the system MgCl₂-CaCl₂-H₂O at 110°C. The properties of this salt were studied by means of thermogravimetric analysis, differential thermal analysis, the powder X-ray diffraction, chemical analysis and microscopic photographs. The double salt 2CaCl₂·MgCl₂·6H₂O was found in deliques. cent white fine crystal and to have many diffraction lines like Tachhydrite.
