Abstract
The effect of heat of solution of calcium chloride crystal on precipitated calcium carbonate by reaction between the calcium chloride crystal and the sodium carbonate solution was studied. In this reaction system, polymorphism phenomenon of calcium carbonate was affected by the heat of solution of the calcium chloride crystal, and calcite precipitated dominantly by the addition of calcium chloride anhydrate with the same molar amount of added crystals. In the case of anhydrate crystal addition, calcite precipitated dominantly in an operating temperature range of 298 K to 328 K. The number of precipitated calcite is proportional to the amount of added calcium chloride crystal, each having rise to the 1.3rd power. The effect of agitation speed on the precipitated calcite was also discussed.
