Proposal to publish figures of management / operation status of personal information held by companies

Abstract

Personal information is acquired daily by use of the Internet, and is analyzed and evaluated. We feel vaguely anxious and distrust about personal information because we can not know to whom or how much personal information is obtained and used. However, I believe that anxiety and distrust will be resolved if a company holding personal information publishes how much personal information it has acquired, how much it has been kept and how much it has deleted together with the result of system audit. In this paper, I propose that the company holding personal information publish the figures on the management / operation situation of personal information together with the result of system audit. Shows how anxiousness and distrust about personal information will change when a company publishes figures on personal information. I show an example of the publication of figures and propose the contents of system audit.
