Abstract
The reaction rate between Al2O3-SiO2 fired bricks and CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-MgO-FeO slags was investigated, and the effect of FeO in the slags on the corroding rate of the bricks was reconstructed by taking into account not
only the dissolution of refractory components in the slags but also the wear due to chemical reactions at the reaction interface. The experimental results were almost consistent with the calculated reaction model, and it was proved that the experimental results could be simulated numerically(reaction model)by taking the chemical reaction rate at the interface between refractories and slag into consideration.
