The potential of EUS for the diagnosis of gallbladder subserosal invasion carcinoma with rather favorable prognosis

Abstract

The diagnostic points of the subserosal invasion gallbladder carcinoma with rather favorable prognosis are as follows (item1-3):
1. To diagnose minimal invasive cancer.
2. Accurate diagnosis of lymphadenopathy.
3. Hepatoduodenal ligament invasion by cancer.
Electronic scanning EUS (with or without contrast agent) may provide the useful diagnostic information of item-1 and -2, but potential (including elastography) for the diagnosis of the third item is unclear and analysis need to be performed from various aspects.
