Abstract
Endoscopic biliary drainage has been widely performed to treat obstructive jaundice and cholangitis, which is recognized as the first-line treatment method at many institutions. Plastic stents, self-expandable metallic stents, and covered self-expandable metallic stents are used for endoscopic biliary drainage. The type of stent and placing form are considered depending on the causative disease, stricture site, clinical stage, patient's condition, and so on.
