Abstract
Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis (XGC) may be difficult to distinguish from gallbladder carcinoma, and it has been significantly associated with the incidence of gallbladder carcinoma. A 70-year-old woman was referred to our hospital owing to epigastric pain. We diagnosed this patient with gallbladder carcinoma concomitant with XGC and adenomyomatosis (ADM) according to a preoperative imaging evaluation, and a cholecystectomy was performed. During the histological analysis, we made a final diagnosis of gallbladder carcinoma at the gallbladder body, XGC at the body and fundus, and ADM (segmental type). In this case, the imaging findings reflected the histological findings, and they were useful for making a final diagnosis.
