Abstract
Signet-ring cell carcinoma is rare as primary tumor of the gallbladder. We report a case of signet-ring cell carcinoma of the gallbladder with pancreatico biliary maljunction. Abdominal ultrasonography (US) and computed tomography (CT) demonstrated wall thickness of the gallbladder. Our preoperative diagnosis was gallbladder adenomyomatosis with pancreatico biliary maljunction. We started the operation laparoscopically. The gallbladder seemed to have cancer in the body from the laparoscopic findings irregular micro-vessels, redness and wall thickness. Gallbladder bed and bile duct resection with regional lymph node dissection was performed by laparotomy. Microscopic examination of the resected specimen revealed adenocarcinoma in the neck of the gallbladder and a signet-ring cell carcinoma in the body of the gallbladder (pT2N1M0, pStage IIIB). He has been well for 9 months after surgery without cancer recurrence.
