Abstract
We present a case of a 73-year-old man with an elevated tumor in the body of the gallbladder measuring 41mm in diameter. Intraductal ultrasonography under endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography showed that the middle portion of the common bile duct was filled with the tumor arising from the tumor of gallbladder to the cystic duct. He was admitted to our hospital for an emergency with the complaint of right hypochondralgia and obstructive jaundice before the elective operation, and he had been well after conservative therapy. The patient underwent extended cholecystectomy with the extra bile duct resection. Pathological examination of the resected gallbladder revealed an adenoma of the gallbladder with moderate to high grade dysplasia. We report herein a rare case of a patient with obstructive jaundice caused by the tumor in the common bile duct arising from the gallbladder adenoma.
