Abstract
A case of amoebic liver abscess with communicating with biliary tract is reported to emphasize the rarity of the condition. The patient was a 49-year-old male. He underwent the open drainage and administrated of Metronidazole for liver abscess in Philippines. After homecoming, he persisted with general fatigue and low grade fever. Residual liver abscess was detected and percutanceous transhepatic abscess drainage for liver abscess was performed. The diagnosis of amebiasis was confirmed because the serological test and presence of Entameba histolytica in the abscess contents. Water-solubed contrast medium infusion through the catheter was performed and demonstrated communication with the biliary tract.
