Abstract
Acute cholangitis is tend to be serious condition. To save life, immediate biliary drainage is absolutely needed. A 81 year old male admitted to our hospital, complaining abdominal pain, fever and jaundice. He had distal gastrectomy with gastrojejunostomy for gastric ulcer, cholecystectomy for cholelithiasis, and left colectomy for descending colon cancer. He needed biliary drainage immediately, but both PTCD and ENBD were impossible for that case. So endotoxin absorption therpy (PMX-DHP) was performed. The patient had recovered from septic state, and choledocholithotomy was performed by papilloplasty. PMX-DHP may be useful for acute cholangitis if biliary drainage was impossible.
