Abstract
Control of friction is one of the most practical problems in our daily life, which covers almost all the areas from basic science such as physics, chemistry and biology, to industrial technology such as mechanical and material engineering and energy problems. Recently, attempts have been made to use carbon materials as electronic, optical and mechanical devices. In this paper, we briefly explain the basic concept of atomic-scale friction and discuss our recent experimental and simulation studies on nanotribology at carbonic interfaces formed by graphene and fullerene.
