Yield of pitch cokes rised from 23 to 40% by addition of 20% sulphur flower to a dehydrated tar at carbonisation process. The pitch coke, however, consisted of minuter crystallites of carbon hardly graphitisable, and molded carbons from the coke have harder and stronger characters than ordinary products.
