"Bikago" (beautification honorifics) is one of the five categories of honorifics and mainly refers to words with the honorific prefix “o (go)” attached to nouns. However, there are individual differences, gender differences, and setting differences, which are very complex and difficult to understand. Although there is a wide range of previous research on honorific prefixes, lexical research is at the center, and the functions and consciousness in actual communication have not yet been fully clarified. Therefore, this study focuses on the specific bikago used in TV programs, as a case study of actual communication, and attempts to analyze how bikago is used and accepted in each scene with the aid of the framework of taigucommunication. This study will analyze the attitude of bikago through interviews with communication subjects (expressive and receptive subjects) and will clarify the aspects of bikago in Japanese communication, which will be helpful to those learning Japanese. The survey was conducted in three stages: (1) extraction of bikago words from TV programs, 2) interviews with the expressive subject (the announcers in charge), and (3) group interviews with the receptive subjects (viewers). In Takishima (2018), the coding analysis of the interview results showed the consciousness of bikago for each of the expressive and receptive subjects. In this paper, by analyzing each type of consciousness in detail based on specific scenes, understanding was refined of the consciousness of both expressive and receptive subjects. By observing bikago from the viewpoint of taigu communication, various ways of using it and receiving it have been clarified.
