An Itinerary in the 18th Century

Abstract

The contents of fifty volumes of the memoir, “Genshi-mampitsufuudo nenpyo”, written by Gensuke Murabayashi in Oobatake, Aomori Prefecture, are very interesting for the studies of historical geography. The writer's itinerary from Oobatake to Kyoto is a detailed record of traffic conditions in Eastern Japan in the 18th Century.
