The road to establishment and inauguration of the Japan Institute of Titanium, JITiT, and expectations to JITiT

Abstract

The holding of the 11th World Conference on Titanium, 2007, and the establishment of the industry-academia collaboration committee, the foundation of the Titanium Research Grant for the young titanium researchers and engineers, and the exchange meeting for young titanium researchers and engineers of the Japan Titanium Society, which are thought to be the impetus for the establishment of the Japan Institute of Titanium (JITiT) are firstly described. Then, the establishment and launch of the JITiTi as well as the expectations for JITiT are described.
