Abstract
At the vegetative stage, the soybean roots were white and seemed to be highly active in checking sodium transport to the top, resulting in high sodium accumulation in them. At maturation stage, the roots became brownish and much less active to work as a barrier allowing much sodium accumulation at stems and petioles.
