Abstract

For watch manufacturing, lubricants supply is one of the foremost requirements to obtain the quality. But lubricants supply for watch movements has some problems, because the parts size for watches is very small, and the accuracy and the stability of lubricant volumes are required. We developed a precision oil supplier which can eject lubricants by piezoelectric material. It can supply the lubricants without the contact of nozzle and movements by ejecting drops. The minimum quantity of the lubricant we have achieved is 0.001(mm^3). Lubricant with viscosity approximately 100 times higher than that of the ink for inkjet printers can be ejected by the noncontact precision ejecting. The development of the oil jet precision injector for watch lubricants is described in this paper.
