Abstract

Frequencies and modes of a tuning fork which has a slight unbalance in the length of prongs and additional masses of its tops are calculated. Using the model of leaf springs and material points, the frequencies and the forces which act on the fixed end are also calculated. These results agree well with the results by the precise calculation above-mentioned. (1) For the calculation of the frequencies and modes of an unsymmetrical tuning fork with a handle, confer the literature NOS. (1)(2)(3) and use the boundary conditions, given in the section two, egs. ( 2-1 )〜( 2-24 ). (2) The frequencies of a symmetrical tuning fork with a syrnmetrical mode are shown in the eg. ( 3-1), tab. 1, and fig. 4.
