Abstract

This session starts with the reports from Japan (https://www.mext.go.jp/content/20200317-mxt_tokubetu01-000005538-02.pdf etc.) and the US (https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/autism/data.html) showing a steep increases in the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Then, researches on the human neurodevelopment particularly on the genetic and DOHaD-related. And the strong plausibility shown by a series of basic studies that neuro-targeted chemicals should induce neurodevelopmental toxicity via receptor-mediated toxicity or signal toxicity. Last year, a wide range of study results were reported and became clearer that ASD and the schizophrenia (SCZ) forms a wider spectrum disorder combined.

In this symposium, we rejoin with updated results and new visions, hoping to deepen the understanding of the factors leading to the abnormal development of high brain functions and gain insights into the direction and scope of future toxicology research.
