Abstract

Isothiazolinone derivatives are used as antibacterial agents and antiseptics in household products such as shampoos and spray-type deodorants, but have been reported to cause health problems such as allergic contact dermatitis. In this study, we investigated the engagement of TRPV1, which is expressed not only in sensory nerves but also in skin and immune cells, and has been reported to be involved in immune response and inflammation in response to nociceptive stimulation by chemical substances, in the inflammatory response induced by isothiazolinone antibiotics.
